Out To Save The World One Budget At A Time

The time that I spent working as a loan officer was an eye opening experience. It's hard to look past the fact that there are so many people out there that could use guidance in money management. Before taking on that job I was pretty oblivious to how many people actually were struggling, not because they didn't make enough, but because they didn't have the knowledge or experience in allocating their resources efficiently.

I didn't grow up learning how to save or how to spend wisely. In fact, my parents were horrible at money management. We grew up in the backwoods of the Ozarks in southern Missouri. My siblings and I had no running water or even plumbing for that matter and spent our days from sun up to sun down exploring the forest to pass the time. Don't get me wrong, that is how a big part of childhood should be spent instead of sitting inside all day on expensive and mind numbing gadgets. My siblings and I turned out just fine and I have no regrets. However, it's the growing up as a child with nothing and having to watch your parents struggle for the most basic of necessities that wasn't how a childhood should be.

At a young age I vowed to myself that I would be smart with how I spend, even in times where I might not make as much, so I won't be as hard off as my family was growing up. I kept that vow and continue to practice smart spending choices today, as well as setting savings goals and having fun achieving them along the way. I love being able to share my knowledge and experiences with others so that they may practice the same habits in order to accomplish their goals and live as worry free as possible. My motivation for this blog and for my business is to be able to create a positive impact within my community by offering financial guidance, and providing my clients with the money management skills that will help them to achieve their savings goals.

  1. I like the color scheme, it goes well with your logo. Bio looks good, and about the business looks good but I would include the purpose statement in your post, its hard to tell what you're actually going to be posting on your blog every week. There are a few spelling mistakes in your post as well.

  2. I like the colors you used in this blog, it gives a calming sense to it, making the financial conversation a little easier. This is a great insight into how you came to wanting to help others with their struggles. Personally, for the titles of each text box, I would use different fonts, maybe a serif font so it really stands out. You did a great job of making everything flow and gave a great sense of understanding into the topic.

  4. The colors have a very soft feel to them and give a soothing atmosphere. A darker shade of white would help improve reading the text, and not stress the eyes so much. Great story about your experience as a loan officer.
